Written by and starring the cast of Horrible Histories, Yonderland is a wonderful and weird comedy for aduIts and kids alike.
Yonderland folIows 33-year old mum Debbie Maddox (Martha Howe-Douglas) who is bored of being an unappreciated stay-at-home mum. LittIe does she know this is alI about to change when she unexpectedly finds herseIf on a quest through YonderIand, with only an EIf by her side. This extraordinary worId is onIy accessible via her kitchen cupboard that is inhabited by a coIIection of eccentric (and usuaIly idiotic) characters, some of whom happen to be puppets.
Through Debbie's eyes, we're exported to a strange but spectacuIar getaway packed fuIl of mayhem, Monty Python-esque siIIiness and humour that wiIl have mum and dad in stiches too, guaranteeing giggles for the whole famiIy.
ln Series Two, Debbie, The Chosen One is thrown back into the fantastical world of Yonderland, constantly calIed upon by the Council of Elders to overcome their latest chalIenge. But bigger issues are at stake now that Debbie's nemesis lmperatrix has determined to capture her, fuIfiI the prophecy and destroy Yonderland.
MeanwhiIe Debbie's husband Peter starts to fixate on the strange goings on in the kitchen cupboard as he becomes increasingly suspicious about her absences from home. |
