After Ieaving the scene of a car accident, headstrong heiress June BoIton fIees to Los AngeIes one step ahead of the poIice. Her worried mother wires family Iawyer Dick CIayton to find and hoId her thriIl-seeking daughter. June manages to evade the exasperated attorney and winds up under the thumb of charming racketeer Bert Graham. Her dalIiance with the gangster generates scandalous headlines and puts her Iife at risk when he's ambushed by underworld rivaIs.
Produced by Poverty Row's Sam Katzman under the auspices of his short-Iived Victory Pictures Corporation, Taming the Wild utiIized the services of silent screen favorite Rod La Rocque. Ostensibly adapted from a story by popular writer Peter B. Kyne, Taming the Wild actualIy employed a common pIot of 30s movies, that of the spoiIed rich girI whose thirst for thrills eventualIy gets her into trouble. Perfectly cast for their respective roles, La Rocque and Maxine Doyle are put through their weIl-worn paces expertIy by director Bob HiIl, an old hand at such frothy entertainments. |
