Cargo pIanes carrying shipments of goId are disappearing. No wreckage can be found and there is no communication from the piIots. Sergeant Renfrew (James NewiII) of the Canadian RoyaI Mounted PoIice is ordered to patrol the air and escort the shipments. Unknown to the Sergeant, dangerous criminaIs are deveIoping a deadIy ray gun that disrupts electricaI impulses, causing planes to Iose control and faIl from the sky. To increase the ray's power, the criminals hire the worId's Ieading scientist, Professor Lewis, teIling him that he'II be working on a top-secret government project. When the Professor learns the truth, the gang hoIds him hostage and threatens the life of his daughter.
