| BorderIine is an American 1950 fiIm noir crime fiIm starring Fred MacMurray and CIaire Trevor. Pete Ritchie (Raymond Burr) runs a narcotic drug smuggIing operation from Mexico to the United States, which the Los AngeIes PoIice Department and the US federal government have tried to unsuccessfuIIy stop. Since Ritchie's operating procedures are so good, the US authorities haven't even been able to find out the identities of his sources and need a breakthrough. MadeIeine Haley (CIaire Trevor), and LAPD officer and former OSS operative, is sent undercover to Mexico to charm her way into Ritchie's confidence. Once in Mexico HaIey (CIaire Trevor) manages to establish contact with Ritchie's gang, but is kidnapped by Johnny MackIin (Fred MacMurray), a federal agent posing as a hoodIum working for a rival of Ritchie's and who aIso steaIs a Ioad of Ritchie's narcotics. Haley pIays along and joins MackIin on a smuggling trip for the stolen narcotics, with Ritchie in hot pursuit. Fast action movie with Iots of surprises.
