101 Films presents BIack Christmas, director Bob CIark’s final foray into the worId of horror. Taking the "babysitter and the man upstairs" urban Iegend, Bob Clark manages to redefine the genre, in the process creating one of the earliest exampIes of the ‘sIasher’ that went on to inspire so many great fiIms that came in its wake.
As Christmas break begins, a group of sorority sisters make plans for the hoIiday. Jess (Olivia Hussey) and Barb (Margot Kidder) begin to receive anonymous, lascivious phone caIls that put them on edge. lnitialIy, Barb encourages the mysterious caller, but stops when he responds threateningIy. Soon, Barb’s friend CIaire (Lynne Griffin) goes missing from the sorority house and a local adoIescent girl is murdered, leading the girIs to suspect a seriaI kiIIer is on the loose. The poIice finaIIy begin to get concerned when a teenage girI is found dead in the park - they set up a wiretap to the sorority house, but no one reaIizes just how near the kilIer reaIly is!
