Kassan becomes terribly ill and Igen discovers that Laone is guilty of poisoning him. In the meantime, the Queen Mother sends her fierce army, led by Hakar, to attack the Zakador estate. Igen has no choice but to get involved in the battle. Aided by spies, Hakar enters the residence and takes a valuable prisoner. Kassan must finally pick a side: the last surviving member of his family or the man he grew to love. King Asakin faces dilemmas of his own, with his mother bent on him continuing their lineage and a forbidden budding romance on the way.
