Center stage is a young family from Baltimore, Maryland, which is drawn into a devious plot to destroy two American Frigates. The family's two young sons are kidnapped to draw the frigates into a trap. Sharing the stage is a large Black Man also held captive by the pirates who helps the boys. He, the boys and another risk danger and death in their daring efforts to escape and warn the American Navy. All the characters become totally involved in the action that ensues when the American Navy, Marines and Militia come to the rescue. The story has a happy ending with an old fashion "good versus evil" twist. "The Battle of Tangier" is a good, clean read for all.
