It is generally acknowledged that graphene-based nanocomposites exhibit unique and outstanding properties. Therefore, graphene-based nanocomposites appear to be important materials in several applications, with the understanding of their potential still largely in its infancy. Herein, this book deals comprehensively with graphene oxide (GO) in the field of heterogeneous catalysis as excellent support with special focus placed on the synthesis of new promising catalytic systems based on potentially active transition metal Schiff-base complexes for different catalytic applications (epoxidation of alkenes and reduction of nitrobenzene). The first two chapters outline the preparation, properties, and characterization techniques of graphene and graphene-based nanocomposites and their catalytic applications. Chapter 3 introduces the superior catalytic performance results accomplished from the selective epoxidation of olefins as well as the catalytic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene. The accessible language and simple style of the books make it suitable for B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. students including those for whom English is not their first language. |
