This book was written to address the gender disparities that exist in the education system. The gender disparities in education continue to exist despite the efforts made by governments and Non-governmental organizations. This concern made this work to be carried out and made a number of recommendations that can help bridge the gap in education between the two genders. The recommendations are timely especially with the advent of HIV/AIDS pandemic which seems to be widening the gender gap in education. The recommendations need to be taken seriously especially by the developing countries that wish to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Nations that are ignoring the girl-child education end up spending millions of dollars to treat preventable diseases which could be invested in other areas of development. This book strongly recommends developing nations to deal with factors that are negatively impacting on the girl-child education and narrow the gender gap if not bridge it.
