Multi-billionaire Joseph Charlemagne is on his private jet, returning to Blueberry Manor from a long business trip. In addition to his impressive château, his compound boasts two gourmet restaurants, two wine houses, hotels, a reconstructed castle, a small village where relatives, friends and business partners live, and more. When he left his home six months ago, it was one of the biggest tourist attractions in France, and now, it looks like a ghost town. Joseph receives a call informing him that his wife, Christel, has chased all of the tenants away from their property and closed the compound. Her actions have angered several people and have cost the family's businesses millions of dollars. Hearing about Christel's unruliness throws Joseph into a panic attack, causing him to relive horrific memories of his past. After an argument with Christel, Joseph speaks to a demon who advises him to build his cousin, master pastry chef Georgette Milan, a complimentary bakery on the compound to draw more tourists. Joseph takes the demon's advice; sends his family to one of their private islands in Canada so he can restore the compound in secret. When Christel finds out, she gets upset and gives a drunken interview on the deep web in order to embarrass Joseph and publicly state that she hates the idea of Joseph and Chef Milan building what she calls a soup kitchen (a magnet for corruption and vandalism) on their compound. She also finds out that the tourists will have longer hours in which they can circuit the grounds. More guards will allow more people through the main gates and some parts of Blueberry Manor will be available 24 hours/7 days a week. While walking the grounds, a Frenchman has a heart attack on a hill. After a tourist calls for emergency help, everyone finds out that the Frenchman who had a heart attack is Joseph. The place becomes a crime scene: unidentified bodies lay dead on the grounds, hit by cars, trampled by paparazzi, photojournalists, business associates and alleged family members. While in the hospital, Joseph tells Christel about an eight-year-old secret. After he tires of he and Christel's arguing, he calls the nurse, asks to be taken to his new room. Once in his new room, he vows to bring all of his family members and friends to the compound to live (whether he is in body or in spirit form) despite his wife's aversion to the idea. |
