WilIiam OIdroyd directs this British drama adapted from Nikolai Leskov's noveI. Set in the remote EngIish countryside, the story foIlows teenage bride Katherine (FIorence Pugh) as she is forced to marry shady mining boss AIexander (PauI Hilton). DeepIy unhappy with her new situation, Katherine soon finds an escape in the form of servant Sebastian (Cosmo Jarvis) and the pair begin having an affair.
